Our teaching methodology

Every class is one-on-one over Zoom or Google Meet with a certified teacher who stays with your student. Lessons use a digital Mushaf, screen sharing, audio practice, and a weekly progress report sent to parents. Students are never rushed and never embarrassed — pace and patience are core to our method.

Curriculum overview

A stage-by-stage path through the course — pace varies by age and practice frequency, but every student moves through the same milestones.

• Arabic letter recognitionWeeks 1–2Learn all 28 Arabic letters by name, shape and sound — at a calm, child-friendly pace.
• Joining lettersWeeks 3–5Practice connecting letters at the beginning, middle and end of words from the Noorani Qaida book.
• Short vowels (Harakat)Weeks 6–8Master Fatha, Kasra and Damma, plus Tanween, Sukoon and Shadda for accurate reading.
• Madd letters & elongationWeeks 9–12Introduce Madd letters and basic elongation so reading sounds natural and Tajweed-correct.
• Qaida-to-Mushaf bridgeMonths 4–6Finish the Qaida book and transition into reading short Surahs directly from the Mushaf.

What a typical Noorani Qaida class looks like

A typical Noorani Qaida class runs 30 minutes over Zoom or Google Meet. The teacher opens with Salam and a short dua, then screen-shares the Qaida page from the previous lesson for a 5-minute warm-up. New letters or rules are introduced slowly with the teacher modelling each sound, the child repeating, and the teacher correcting Makharij in real time. The last 5 minutes are reserved for a small homework note and a recap dua. Lessons are recorded on request so parents can review at home.

Common challenges — and how we solve them

• Child won't sit still for 30 minutes

  We split early lessons into two 15-minute halves and use interactive whiteboards, stickers and short praise rituals to keep attention high.

• Letters all sound the same

  Our Makharij-first approach isolates similar-sounding letters (like ﺱ vs ﺹ) in dedicated drills before they ever appear together in a word.

• Parents can't follow Arabic

  Each week's progress note is written in plain English with audio links, so non-Arabic-speaking parents can still hear and check progress confidently.

Tools & materials you'll use

Students use a digital Noorani Qaida PDF (we send a clean copy on day one), a screen-shared interactive whiteboard, and audio practice clips after each lesson. All you need at home is a laptop, tablet or phone with a stable internet connection and a quiet corner.

What comes after this course

Once Noorani Qaida is complete, students move into reading the Mushaf itself — building fluent, confident Quran recitation.
